One more Miamian may be about to enter the race for the Democratic nomination for US Senate: Maurice Ferre, former mayor of Miami. He's in the Orlando Sentinel yesterday and in the Miami Herald's Naked Politics blog today. The latter says he will announce next Wednesday.
Other prominent Democrats in the race are Congressman Kendrick Meek of Miami and former Mayor Kevin Burns of North Miami. On the Republican side are Gov. Charlie Crist and former Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio. This is the seat given up by the vanishing Mel Martinez. The primary is next August, election in November 2010.
UPDATE: There's a more complete story in the Friday Miami Herald.
