Bravo! Down with Cuba travel restrictions

More than Bravo may not be necessary. Here's what the Miami-Dade County Democratic Party issued as a policy statement this weekend:

MIAMI - Miami-Dade Democratic Party Chairman Joe Garcia issued the following statement today, August, 18, 2007, on behalf of the Miami-Dade Democratic Executive Committee regarding existing restrictions on travel to Cuba:

"We support real family values, not policy that only further damages families already divided. The travel restrictions that prohibit Cuban Americans from visiting family members in Cuba more than once every three years must be eliminated. The Bush administration cannot purport to tell individuals who they can or cannot consider to be immediate family members, nor how often they should visit them."

Senator Dodd has set the standard for what the Democratic candidates need to say on Cuba.

"I have long supported the freedom to travel to Cuba, which is why I have joined with twenty of my colleagues in a bi-partisan way to co-sponsor S.721 the Freedom to Travel to Cuba Act of 2007. It is simply un-American to bar American citizens from traveling to foreign countries. ..

A US policy of staying the course leaves us on the sides as the future of Cuba is being written. It is time to engage before it is too late to have a positive influence on the political landscape which is rapidly taking shape there."

I think is time to listen to a new voice, to head a complete different direction, I believe there is a new generation of Cubans, not Cuban Americans but Cuban born, that are tired of the old rhetoric, and want a change. I'm a register republican; I am willing to listen to Obama.
Note: I’m switching to independent, I believe in de ideology, but not in the leaders.

I heard a very, very reliable source in Miami, who works for the Federal goverment, tell me that numerous, high profile Cuban-American leaders have met twice and are planning more meetings with representitves of the current regime in Cuba. According to the information, both Washington and Havana, as well as Madrid's goverment has sanctioned the meetings and have guarenteed all participants full support, economic and diplomatically any agreement made!
If this is true how does this affect the current political structure in Miami and Tampa, and Florida???
