Have I calmed down enough to write about this? Browsing the Miami Herald web site today, I’m afraid I let my blood pressure get outa control.
Today’s Question (It's on the upper left of the page):
Do you have questions about President Obama's citizenship?
The Vote buttons below the Q started to waver as my brain raced through questions that I would have thought impossible before seeing this purported Question.
- Have birthers taken control of Florida’s supposed flagship newspaper even though the state voted strongly in favor of the Democratic nominee less than a year ago?
- How could this have happened? Why would they think this was a good idea?
- Haven’t they seen that even Lou Dobbs is taking a drubbing for his coy jitterbug around this issue?
- Do they think coy is a good way to deal with anything at all in this world above the level of a grade-school flirt?
Please join with me and email the Herald in protest. The major word in my short message was despicable.

In my opinion the Republican Party has been taken over the most extreme religious right (people who love to push their beliefs on others while trying to take away their rights) and that’s who they need to focus on if they real want to win. Good Luck, because as they said in WACO, “We Ain’t Coming Out”.
In the same vein, to all the birthers in La, La Land, it is on you to prove to all of us that your assertion is true, if there are people who were there and support your position then show us the video (everyone has a price), either put up or frankly shut-up. I heard Orly Taitz, is selling a tape (I think it’s called “Money, Lies and Video tape”). She is from Orange County, CA, now I know what the mean when they say “behind the Orange Curtain”, when they talk about Orange County, the captial of Conspiracy Theories. You know Obama has a passport, he travel abroad before he was a Senator, but I guess he fooled them too?
Thanks, Paul. While agreeing that the extreme right is taking over the Republicans, I urge us to stay alert for the inevitable time when they get their heads straight and come back toward the center. The Sotomayor nomination is a test of the current atmosphere on the R side, and they seem still pretty far from reasonable. I can't believe this plain-vanilla nominee won't get more R votes. It looks more and more like common racism to reject her.
